Reflects the romantic notion of the knighted horseman of old Europe; returning from battle to rest by the warmth of a grand hearth; sipping wine mulled in the basket of the andirons.

Massive as an Oak, this design is rooted in early gothic origins with decorative chisel work. The andirons are of a grand scale, offering large basket finials that traditionally were used to hold vessels for warming wine. One may choose to add a spit for interest or cooking in the ancient tradition. The horse head finials on each tool are sculpted from red-hot iron, one of a kind and one at a time.

All finishes are of a natual black oxide, which are then burnished and waxed. Custom finishes and patinas are available by phone.
